T-Mobile, Verizon allowed briefs in Apple-Samsung lawsuit
Both the amicus briefs of T-Mobile and Verizon have been approved by the Northern District of California court handling Apple's main lawsuit against Samsung. The agreement doesn't amount to an agreement with their points of view but will take the carriers' input into consideration. Apple has requested that it reply to the two companies by October 6.... There may well be a new iPhone on the horizon, but that's not keeping accessory vendors from coming up with new and tasty cases for the existing handsets.
RIM had an large internal rift over how it would pitch the BlackBerry PlayBook, executives slipped out on Friday. Traditionalists at the company, such as co-CEO Mike Lazaridis, wanted to sell the tablet as a business companion, the WSJ heard. Rivals, however, wanted it to more directly chase after the iPad and focus on games, movies, music, breaking out of RIM's usual mold....
Either by sheer coincidence or simple bad planning, Adobe -- about to kick off its annual Adobe Max developer conference -- has scheduled an announcement from the company on Tuesday, October 4th at 10 a.m. Pacific time, exactly the same date and time that Apple will be making its highly-anticipated iPhone (and perhaps more) announcements at the company's town hall stage in Cupertino. Adobe has said even less than Apple about the nature of its announcement....
